Gifted and Talented Education at St Andrew's College
Welcome to Gifted and Talented Education at St Andrew's College. Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) at St Andrew's College spans all year levels with a class specifically dedicated to GATE at both Years 9 and 10. These classes are timetabled as Years 9 and 10 ACEE [Academic Enrichment and Extension]. Year 11 - 13 GATE students do not have a dedicated GATE class but are regularly offered academic and cultural extension opportunities such as involvement in the Model United Nations and Model European Union Conferences, Philosophy Conference facilitated by Academy Conferences, specialised Science lectures such as the 2016 Genetics lecture, the Australasian Brain Bee Competition for Year 11's, STAR extension via the University of Canterbury, and Future Problem Solving. Years 9 and 10 ACEE students are also offered the academic and cultural extension opportunities above, apart from the Australasian Brain Bee, which is for Year 11 students only and the STAR programme which is for Year 12 and 13 students.
