Environmental literacy - be prepared for the future:
- being able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the environment and the circumstances and conditions affecting it, particularly as it relates to air, climate, land, food, energy, water and ecosystems;
- being able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of society's impact on the natural world;
- investigate and analyse environmental issues and make accurate conclusions about effective solutions;
- take individual and collective action towards addressing environmental challenges.

Training Provider: Sam Andrist
Sam is studying Economics at the University of Canterbury. He chaired the Sustainability Council at Cashmere High School and managed their Eco-driver Project for two years. He has represented Cashmere and New Zealand at the Zayed Future Energy Conference in Abu Dhabi where he learnt from prominent minds such as former Vice President, Al Gore. Sam's former Sustainability Council at Cashmere High School won the 2016 Zayed Future Energy Prize of US$100,000.
